Lithium Batteries Can Be Explosive
For many of the new laptops and notebooks there are all kinds of different types of batteries that they run on. Lithium batteries seem to be one of the most up and coming batteries that are being used by these electronic companies. The problem with these types of batteries is that what they are made of is a explosive material and can cause an explosion at any time.
Lithium is a silver colored metal that is the lightest of all the metals as far its density. Usually lithium compounds are used to make up all of what is inside the battery. These lithium batteries are very widely used in the electronics world.
Lithium batteries provide high currents for what ever application they are being used for. The problem with these types of batteries is that they have a tendency to have a very rapid discharge. When the batteries have to quick of a discharge in a short period of time, this can cause permanent damage to your battery and the product that the battery is working on. The batteries are originally intended to provide a lot of energy over an extended period of time. Although this is not good for the battery, it is possible to do this without causing permanent damage to the product.
Because these batteries cause such a rapid discharge, the explosion that it causes will be when the battery explodes and causes some sort of electrical explosion to the product. This can send sparks flying and eventually cause a fire to anything that might have been surrounding the product.
